Welcome to the Midwest Meditations Podcast! We launched as an audio only podcast in 2022 and sporadically recorded (as time afforded) through May of 2023. This is the first video episode! Previous episodes are available by following this link. This project in a work in progress, so bear with us we strive to continuously improve…and please grade me on a curve, lol!
In this episode, we cover film, faith, and fiction as we consider Ethan Hawke's latest directorial effort, 'Wildcat' which depicts the life of Southern Gothic writer Flannery O'Connor. This is our first episode in a year! It is also our first video episode, as all of our previous segments have been purely audio. We hope you enjoy this discussion of what it means to walk with God and be in this world, but not 'of it'...and how the life Saint Flannery inspires us to accept the 'crosses' God gives us...that we might know the peace "that passes all understanding". Join us!
*Note: I am far from being a Flannery O’Connor expert (and I confused the titles of some of her works and characters…true Flannery fans please withhold judgment)…the extent of my having read her work is limited to her Prayer Journal (which I stole incidentally a few years ago).
